Harold “JR” Rapozo, 67, of Mountain View died Sept. 1 at home. Born on Kauai, he was a heavy equipment mechanic and U.S. Navy Vietnam War veteran. Hawaii Island celebration of life noon-pau Sunday (Sept. 24) at Wailoa State Recreation Area (large pavilion). Committal services 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, 45-349 Kamehameha Highway, Kaneohe, Oahu. Oahu celebration of life 3 p.m.-pau Saturday, Oct. 21, at FITTED Hawaii Warehouse, 754 Pohukaina St., Honolulu. Survived by wife, Margaret “Muggy” Irvine-Rapozo of Puna; sons, Keola (Bailee) Nakaahiki of Honolulu and Kumai Irvine of Hilo; daughters, Leila (Duncan Jr.) Castro of Hilo, Raynette Kaopua and Momi Rapozo of California; brother, Joseph Rapozo of Kauai; sisters, Diane Basque of Oahu, Charlene Sherwood of Hilo, Julie Rapozo, Bernadette Rapozo and Sheena Archer of Oahu; eight grandchildren. Segundino “Dino” T. Yadao, 86, of Hilo died Aug. 27 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center in Hilo. Born in Sinait, Ilocos Sur, the Philippines, he was a retired self-employed papaya farmer and member of Hilo Iloko Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Visitation 5-9 p.m. Friday (Sept. 22) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 7 p.m. Casual attire; no flowers. Graveside service 10 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 23) at Alae Cemetery, new section. Survived by wife, Carmen Yadao of Hilo; sons, Ernesto (Mercy) Yadao, Rodrigo (Alma) Yadao and Renato (Josie) Yadao of Kahului, Maui, Mario (Merlina) Yadao and Edison (Delia) Yadao of Pahoa, Ludivico (Nely) Yadao of Kona; daughters, Leonida (Ricardo) Cayme of Pahoa, Charity (Dante) Ramos and Carlina (Rolly) Rivera of Kahului; brother, Juan Yadao of the Philippines; 20 grandchildren; cousins, nieces and nephews.
